Why see Lauryn Hill?

The 25th Anniversary of Miseducation!

R&B icon Lauryn Hill continues to celebrate the 25th anniversary of her landmark 1998 album, "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill," with an extensive US tour. Regarded as one of the finest female MCs for over 25 years, Lauryn is back with her uniquely soulful brand of hip-hop and will be performing the smash hit album live in its entirety! Support comes from The Fugees!

Rising to fame with the hip-hop trio The Fugees during the mid-Nineties, Hill became a household name with the release of the group's second album, "The Score." Featuring tracks like "Killing Me Softly" and "Ready or Not," the record was a groundbreaking fusion of rap, soul, and reggae, proving immensely influential in its innovative use of sampling. Hill's 1998 solo debut, "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill," followed soon after and achieved even greater success. It reached number one on the Billboard charts and earned the then 23-year-old singer an unprecedented five Grammy Awards.

Started off Rocky but ended on a good note

So the concert started 2 hours late but we also got a 2 hour+ show. We didn't leave till after midnight. While her voice has changed, the performances overall was really good. The energy was amazing as well. It was her the Fugees, Wyclef, and another Jamaican artist. Her opening DJ was lit too. Compared to what she did in Toronto, I would say Chicago got a good show and I appreciate that as I paid 260 for my tickets (great seats), and came from Detroit to see her. Like I said, it started off as a rocky experience, but I was satisfied when I left the show. I could see the effort and feel the energy. ... Read more

Lauryn Hill climbs to the Mountain Top!

Just saw the Philadelphia November 25th show. Fantastic! Superb! Outstanding! If you weren't there you missed an Epic night! Dejays Reborn and Quest Love kept the place rocking. People were dancing to a brilliant mix of music. Ms. Lauryn Hill came on at 10pm. She blew the roof off the house. Her vocals were strong and clearly have more depth than her younger days. She remixed the classic songs of Miseducation and periodically returned to give you a sample of the original version. Her brilliant creative artistry was on full display. Wyclef and the rest of the Fugees came out and reminded you of why they became stars in the industry. Wyclef killed 911. But what they did with Killing Me Softly was masterful. These artist are all still at the top of their game and understand the significance of being great performers. Add in the local artist that Ms Hill and the Fugees show cased like the Delfonics, the Outsiders and an old school rapper( I don't recall his name) that can take younger rappers to class any day. This show was well put together. People left happy exclaiming how they had gotten more their money's worth. ... Read more
